The Chatham County Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.

Officers were called to the Akshar Food Mart located at 5402 LaRoche Avenue for a report of a shooting. They found one female who had been shot. She was transported to the hospital with injuries that appear to be non-life threatening.

Detectives do not believe the shooting was random. They are looking for the driver of a black Jeep with a winch on the front that witnesses reported as being involved in the incident.

 

 The Chatham County Police Department is asking for the public’s help as detectives attempt to identify an armed robbery suspect.

At approximately 10:50 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2020, a slender man wearing all black and a skeleton mask entered the BP Gas Station at 5 South Gateway Boulevard.

The suspect was armed with a handgun when witnesses say he jumped across the counter, struck an employee, and took cash from the register before fleeing on foot in the direction of the Scottish Inn Hotel.

 

Savannah Police are seeking the public’s assistance locating a second suspect in a December 2019 fatal shooting.

Around 3:20 p.m. Dec. 31, officers responded to Wilder Drive at Avery Street and discovered Tommy Frazier, 28, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

Later that day, detectives identified Harry Pinckney, 40, of Savannah, as a suspect. He was arrested and charged with murder.

Throughout the course of the investigation, detectives identified a second suspect, Kenneth Leonard Joyner, 32, in connection to this case. He is a black male standing 6’02” and weighing approximately 180 pounds.

Detectives are continuing to investigate this case.
